FAQ
-
What happens when I reach my traffic limit? In case you reach your traffic limit, we will change the speed of the network port to 10Mbits/s. You can immediately buy more bandwidth and get back to your normal network speeds. -
How much traffic is included in my IS Server? We offer 3TB traffic limit on "IS" servers, but once you've signed up, you can purchase more traffic in our administration panel. -
Can I buy more IP Addresses?Yes of course. You can always open a ticket to ask for more IP Addresses. We offer either single additional addresses, or we can offer you one dedicated vlan. -
How can I test your connection? You can test our connection speed by downloading our SpeedTest file at:
http://www.server.lu/speed.test
This kind of test does not provide you with transit "state" information on the 15 or maybe 30+ hops between you and us. Neither does it take into account the kind of connection you are hooked up by, or the hardware you are using. Doing a speed test, you should take this into account.
If you want a real and usable picture of how well we are connected, we would encourage you to use some of the online available ping/traceroute tools from 4 or 5 different locations around the world and towards us (traceroute root.lu)and calculate an average from the results.

How is your network connected? We are physically present (POP) at various locations, all of them are interconnected with at least 10 GBIT/s fiber links.
Our main Datacenter is located in Steinsel, Luxembourg (Europe). We are the sole owners of this datacenter facility with a surface of approximatively 800 square meters.
Our internal setup runs a full-mesh and the number of servers per switch, backbone-switch, or router will never exceed the backplane of the unit it is attached to or uplinked to. -
Are you multi-homed with more carriers?Yes, we manage our own backbone under AS Number 5577.
We have a membership at RIPE and we are also peering members on AMS-IX, DE-CIX and LINX, FRANCE-IX and LU-CIX.
